countrycrock.jpgFor those of you who use spreads instead of butter, listen up. Shedd's Country Crock now has calcium and vitamin D added. One serving, which is 1 tablespoon, has as much calcium as 1/3 a glass of milk. Why is this important? The reality is that about 3/4 of kids aged 9 to18 don't get enough calcium in their diets. The question is whether or not getting calcium from a spread is the answer. Country Crock has less than 70 percent saturated fat, no cholesterol and half the calories of butter, but the taste is very salty and it has a lot more ingredients. Retails for $2.39.

icecreamshaker.jpgSo if you really like milkshakes and are very lazy you might want to try Mollicoolz Shakers -- all you have to do is add milk and shake for 30 seconds. It mixes with all those sugars, natural and artificial flavors and other stuff, and what comes out tastes pretty close to a milkshake. Even though they give instructions on how to make it thick, it still came out pretty thin. One word of caution is that the plastic label gets loose while you are shaking it, so if you are not careful it could slip out of your hands.

soypudding.jpgThis product is a HIT!
What surprised me most about this ZenSoy Pudding was the flavor. It's terrific -- the combination of chocolate and vanilla is perfectly balanced and this pudding is not gritty and has a great mouth-feel. It's organic and gluten- and lactose-free, and even kids will love it. Retails for $3.49 - $3.99 for 4.

lindt.jpgIf you're a milk chocolate lover, go out and buy this. Lindt has always had one of the best chocolates and the new raisin, hazelnut and almond bar is excellent. The only thing that I didn't love is I found it a bit chewy -- I imagine that's the raisins and nuts doing their thing -- but it was smooth and rich. Retails for $2.49 - $2.79.

lucinidressing.jpgThis product is a HIT!
Lucini's new line of Artisan Vinaigrettes are worth noting. Lucini has one of the best extra virgin olive oils on the market, but read the labels carefully because not all their vinaigrettes use olive oil -- this Cherry Balsamic and Rosemary actually uses sunflower oil. But don't let that stop you from buying it. The recipe is terrific and my suggestion for your next party is to buy half a dozen of the different varieties and give your friends a treat. Retails for $6.99.
