New Product Reviews!
With over 40,000 products in the average supermarket, people don't have time (or the money) to test every product on the shelves – so we do it for you!
Each week we will post the latest reviews and I hope you will log in to see what’s hot…and what’s not!
Each product is judged and taste-tested based on the following seven criteria:
1. (30 points) Taste: The most important attribute of any food
2. (20 points) Value: Is it worth it?
3. (15 points) Health: Based off the nutritional information, is it nutritionally balanced?
4. (15 points) Ingredients: What's in it, how natural is it?
5. (10 points) Preparation: When applicable, how accurate or good are the directions?*
6. (5 points) Appearance: Is it appetizing and does it resemble its photo or description?
7. (5 points) Packaging: Is it appropriate for the product and does it have any benefits such as reseal ability, added freshness, better storage, etc?
*Products that do not require any preparation will have the full value of these points included in their total score.
Kashi Mediterranean Pizza
| Taste | Value | Health | Ingredients | Prep | Appearance | Packaging | Total |
| 26 | 16 | 13 | 13 | 9 | 5 | 4 | 86 |
As far as a frozen pizza goes, this is one of the tastier ones out there, especially for a vegetarian alternative. The “Mediterranean” taste comes from spinach and a blend of cheeses, including feta. What really stands out is the tasty crust with sesame and a hint of nutty flax seed (which adds 260 mg of alpha-linolenic acids (ALA), an omega-3 that reduces inflammation and chronic diseases such as heart disease). One drawback is the sodium content, at 640 mg per serving. The whole pizza is 3 servings, so if you eat the whole thing (which is very plausible) that’s 1920 mg of sodium in one sitting! Retails for $5.99/12.7 oz.

Honest Kids Berry Berry Good Lemonade
| Taste | Value | Health | Ingredients | Prep | Appearance | Packaging | Total |
| 15 | 15 | 14 | 15 | N/A* | 4 | 4 | 77 |
This is the kind of product that we want to be giving to our children. The drink is USDA certified organic, and it doesn’t contain any of the artificial preservatives and colors found in other popular kids’ drinks. Each serving, one pouch, contains 100% of the daily Vitamin C requirement, and only 10 g of sugar, which you can feel good about since it comes from organic cane sugar. Unfortunately, the flavor will probably fail to appeal to kids. The drink tastes like a watered down version of a diet berry-flavored water. That’s no surprise, since the drink only contains 6% juice. Calling this a ‘lemonade’ is definitely a stretch, as there is barely a hint of lemon flavor. Honest Kids also comes in Goodness Grapeness and Tropical Tango Punch. Retails for $0.69-$0.99/6.75 oz pouch.

Quaker Sweet & Salty Toffee Nut Crunch
| Taste | Value | Health | Ingredients | Prep | Appearance | Packaging | Total |
| 26 | 18 | 12 | 11 | N/A* | 5 | 5 | 87 |
This product is great for those times when your tongue can't decide whether it wants a snack that's sweet or salty. It's a great combination of the sweetness of toffee and the strong crunch of toasted oats and nuts. Each serving of two bars contains only 150 calories, zero trans fats, and 1 g of saturated fat. Even though these are called sweet and salty bars, there's only 210 mg of sodium per serving, which isn't bad for a quick snack on the go. Also available in Honey Roasted Peanut and Oats Nuts & Honey. Retails for $3.19/box of six 1.19 oz pouches.

After purchasing a 24 pk. of Honest Kids drink, I was very disappointed in the fact that the sugar was listed high on the list compared to to the juices. If quality juice is used there should be no need of the sugar. Probably won't purchase it again.
I absolutely love these bars but they are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Most Big Y's and Stop and Shop's around here have stopped carrying them. I am very dissappointed about that and am hoping make a quick comeback!
